First Day Hike with DC ACX

On New Year’s Day, please join me for a First Day Hike. A First Day Hike is a traditional way to start the year off with a healthy outside activity! All the cool people are doing it.

We will meet at the Silver Spring end of the Northwest Branch trail, which is off Colesville Road here. If you’d like to carpool or need a ride from the metro, please let me know. The full trail is about 7 miles and moderate difficulty (part of the trail may be closed off but we can at least do most of it). The trail features a lovely stream, dam, and a population of pileated woodpeckers.

The temperature is expected to be in the 30s, so please dress appropriately with hat, gloves, and appropriate footwear.

Place: Northwest Branch parking lot, Silver Spring, MD. Parking is free.
